Signature Recruitment is pleased to be recruiting a Business Operations Officer to join a well-established research support team in the arts, languages, and culture division at a leading London university. This is a full-time, temporary role starting on immediately, initially for 2-3 months, with strong potential for extension. The role offers hybrid working, typically two days on-site and three days remote per week, with flexibility around core working hours.

You’ll join a supportive team of nine, playing a vital role in maintaining the operational systems that support academic research. As Business Operations Officer, you will focus on externally funded research activity, working closely with one of four research cluster managers. Your work will help ensure the smooth, consistent delivery of departmental operations, providing high-quality administrative support in line with university and faculty policies, priorities, and timelines.

Business Operations Officer Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day operations, including raising purchase orders, processing expenses, and managing a shared inbox
  • Coordinate travel and logistics for research events and academic conferences
  • Maintain and organise internal documentation using SharePoint
  • Take minutes at occasional departmental meetings (minimal during peak academic periods)
  • Liaise with internal teams and navigate university systems to support research delivery
