Job Description

Southwark Council is seeking a proactive and organised Business Support Officer to join the Housing team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity to support the Heads of Service with key administrative duties in a fast-paced environment focused on repairs and housing services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Heads of Service with day-to-day administrative tasks.

  • Follow up on escalated complaints and casework.

  • Maintain accurate logs of incoming and completed tasks.

  • Liaise with internal departments to coordinate meetings and represent the service when required.

  • Create and monitor KPIs and performance data to support service improvement.

Requirements
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.

  • Confident communicator with experience liaising across departments.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data logging tools.

  • Previous local government or housing experience is desirable.

Additional Information
  • This role is inside IR35.

  • Office-based 4 days per week at Peckham, SE15.
