Bid Writer - Social Housing Contractor Location: Head Office - Essex | London Office

An established SME contractor specialising in delivering high-quality construction services within the built environment, with a strong focus on social housing. The company has evolved over the last three years, securing direct contracts with clients, expanding frameworks, and managing larger-scale projects. With an annual turnover of £10 million, we are rapidly growing and strengthening our bidding capabilities to secure new opportunities.

They are now seeking an experienced and ambitious Bid Writer to join our Business Development team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting our bid submissions, ensuring high-quality, persuasive, and compliant documentation is presented to local authorities in Camden, Haringey, and Southwark.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support bid-writing activities, ensuring compelling and competitive submissions
  • Collaborate with the Business Development team to structure and develop bid responses
  • Conduct research on local authority frameworks, tender requirements, and industry regulations
  • Manage bid timelines and deadlines effectively to ensure timely submission
  • Work across multiple sectors within the built environment while remaining open-minded to new opportunities
  • Maintain and develop relationships with key stakeholders

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in bid writing within the construction or social housing sector
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and tendering for large frameworks
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and under the guidance of senior bid writers
  • Familiarity with local authority contracts and compliance requirements
