Shift Engineer

50,000 + 5k shift allowence

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on all mechanical and electrical systems in line with site schedules and asset lists.

  • Respond to and complete reactive maintenance tasks promptly, including issues related to concessionary areas and fabric-related elements. Actively identify and suggest areas for service improvement.

  • Supervise subcontractors to ensure all works meet contractual standards. Manage work approvals and ensure safe and compliant operations during site activities.

  • Operate a Permit to Work system in line with internal health and safety policies and procedures, as well as client-specific requirements.

  • Promptly address plant faults and defects to maintain operational functionality of all systems.

  • Ensure availability of necessary spare parts for both PPM and reactive tasks; provide parts lists and estimated completion timelines for remedial works.

  • Complete and submit all relevant documentation for reactive and breakdown tasks in a timely manner to the contract administrator.

  • Prepare and follow Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks to uphold safe working practices.

  • Build strong working relationships with internal teams, subcontractors, and client representatives.

  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment, including consistent use of uniforms and PPE.

  • Present a professional image on behalf of the company at all times when interacting with clients and site stakeholders.

  • Ensure all plant rooms are secure, clean, and well-maintained.

  • Supervise and monitor subcontractors performing maintenance tasks on site.

  • Ensure all assigned tasks are executed in a timely, safe, and compliant manner.

  • Maintain awareness and compliance with contractual KPIs and SLAs.

  • Keep the Computer-Based Maintenance System (e.g., Maximo) updated with accurate and complete information for all PPM and reactive works.

  • Ensure engineering team members submit required documentation, including near-miss reports and dynamic risk assessments. Challenge and escalate non-compliance when necessary.

  • Proactively manage and monitor the Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) system to ensure alignment with health and safety procedures.

  • Use the Building Management System (BMS) to monitor environmental conditions and make adjustments to maintain optimal internal conditions.

  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the site management team.
