My client is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a dedicated Heat Networks team, delivering innovative solutions on a wide range of commercial and mixed-use projects. This is an exciting opportunity to take a lead role in the design, optimisation, and assurance of communal heat networks, helping clients navigate the industry's upcoming technical and regulatory changes.

Key responsibilities include:
* Leading on the design of new-build and refurbished heat networks, ensuring performance, compliance, and energy efficiency.
* Acting in a quality assurance and technical monitoring role, reviewing contractor design packages, undertaking site inspections, and witnessing testing/commissioning.
* Carrying out post-occupancy performance reviews, identifying improvements and troubleshooting issues.
* Supporting clients with funding applications for government-backed decarbonisation schemes.
* Helping to shape internal design standards, procedures, and technical tools.
* Mentoring and supporting junior engineers as the team continues to expand.

About You

My client is looking for someone passionate about building services engineering and the future of low-carbon energy solutions. You'll be equally comfortable at the drawing board and on site, able to collaborate confidently with clients, contractors, and project teams.

Ideally, you will have:

* Experience as a Senior Mechanical Engineer in building services (or an Intermediate Engineer ready to step up).
* Strong technical knowledge of heating systems and district/communal heat networks.
* Experience of on-site inspection, monitoring and troubleshooting.
* Progress towards, or achievement of, Chartered Engineer status.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of producing clear technical reports.

* Exciting and technically challenging projects across the commercial sector.
* Excellent professional development and mentorship, including support towards Chartership.
* Competitive salary, annual bonus, and enhanced benefits package.
* Flexible working arrangements.
* Significant holiday entitlement and supportive work-life balance.
* The opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of heat networks in the UK.
