We are recruiting for a BAU AV Technician to work as part of a Team in delivering AV support for a Paddington-based medical science client's meeting rooms and, on occasion, event spaces. The object of this role is to ensure that the meeting rooms are properly set up for client meetings and that the equipment is working, and end users (where applicable) are conversant with the equipment they are using to ensure we provide an exceptional service to our clients. Whilst there are regular duties to be undertaken, the demands upon the function can be unpredictable, often with tight deadlines. The individual must have proven skills in dealing with such matters. Shifts covered in this role are 07:00 15:00 and fully based onsite, however, flexibility in working hours is essential, especially when helping out with client event,s which may extend into the evening. This role maintains the quality and standard of the client's experience, playing a key part in all aspects of AV and providing support in relation to client meetings.
Standard experience would be AV competencies signal flow/trace, troubleshooting, user support, event support. Familiarity with AV systems, interoperability, and dependencies across system, networking, a good all-rounder for L2 level client staffing.Previous client interfacing essential, live event support, etc. Familiarity with video conferencing technologies is essential, Zoom room and hybrid event support experience required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Based in the Paddington office, the AV Technician will provide supportinside and, on occasion, external to the clients offices.
Carry out all aspects of the AV service prescribed in Function Sheets.
To be proactive in raising issues concerning the efficient and effective operation of AV equipment by clients and colleagues.
Set up video/audio calls and liaise with all the other parties.
Setting up webinars and assists with conferencing and collaborative technologies.
Provide ad hoc technological support for clients when required, i.e., internet, laptop, connection issues, TV, e-mails.
Monitor the status of the meeting rooms, audio-visual and telephony equipment to ensure it is always in good working order. Ensure any necessary maintenance is carried out.
Regularly provide relevant technical training to associated support teams.
Set up presentation equipment and systems in time for relevant meetings.
Test all equipment daily/weekly and report any defects to the appropriate department/supplier.
Conduct new starter inductions on meeting room equipment and what we can offer clients.
Book/manage AV bookings in the meeting room booking system.
Assist and support Events with client and training seminars with equipment as well as multimedia software technologies.
Rigging and de-rigging audio, lighting, audio visual, video/data sets, sound systems and display equipment in accordance with general health and safety regulations and procedures.
Maintain a tidy and efficient working environment.
Control and manage AV inventory.
Minimum of (3) three years' experience within a client-facing Corporate Meetings/Events field
Ability to provide working standards to the highest specification within a Corporate Head Office Building.
Excellent computer skills and the ability to learn new software and systems.
Hands-on experience with Hardware and Software conferencing and collaboration equipment.
Live experience of digital sound desks, including microphone management and EQ, Multi-camera control systems, and vision mixing is desirable.
Control systems (QSC), including virtual and physical signal routing.
Video & Audio Conference experience including Point-to-Point and interactive Multipoint events.
Understanding of multiple display types, including aspect ratios and video walls
Basic stage lighting principles
Expert PowerPoint user and knowledge of MS Windows
IT qualification of some sort is desirable.
Advanced knowledge of IT equipment and audio-visual equipment
