Alecto Recruitment is proud to be recruiting for an exceptional opportunity within the high-end residential audio visual and home automation sector.

Our client is a well-established and reputable integrator delivering cutting-edge smart home technologies, home cinema, multi-room audio, and advanced AV/IT solutions to luxury homes and prestigious residential developments across the UK.

Due to continued success and ongoing project growth, they are now seeking a motivated Junior / Trainee Audio Visual Installer to join their expert engineering team.

The Role

As a Junior AV Installer, you will support senior engineers on a wide range of installation projects, helping deliver high-quality systems into new-build and refurbishment residential environments.

Your duties will include:

  • Supporting 1st fix and 2nd fix installations
  • Running and terminating structured cabling including CAT5 / CAT6, speaker cable, and control cabling
  • Carrying out cable pulling, containment, and rack build support
  • Installing patch panels, network components, AV hardware, and peripherals
  • Assisting with the installation and setup of:
    • CCTV and security systems
    • Access control and door entry systems
    • Wireless networks and IT infrastructure
    • Smart home and home automation systems
  • Working closely with senior engineers to ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards
  • Maintaining excellent site organisation, cleanliness, and accurate documentation

This is a hands-on role offering fantastic exposure to the AV industry, ideal for someone with strong practical ability and a keen interest in technology.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate strong practical aptitude and a willingness to learn. You should ideally have:

  • Experience with 1st fix / 2nd fix installation work
  • Background as an electrical apprentice, electrical improver, or similar trades-based experience (desirable but not essential)
  • Good understanding of structured cabling, terminations, and basic electrical principles
  • Experience with RJ45 terminations and cable management
  • Familiarity with CAT5 / CAT6 cabling, patch panels, and network hardware
  • A proactive, enthusiastic attitude with a strong interest in AV, IT, or smart home technology
  • A full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel to various residential sites
  • Excellent communication, reliability, and teamwork skills

Experience with security or low-voltage systems (CCTV, access control, intruder alarms) would be a distinct advantage but full training will be provided.
