Legal CashierCentral London£35,000 - £42,000An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Cashier to join a dynamic International Law Firm in Central London. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in legal finance and a thorough understanding of the Solicitors' Accounts Rules (SARS).Please only apply if you have previous experience as a Legal Cashier within a law firm. This is essential.Key Responsibilities:
  • Process client transactions (incoming/outgoing payments)
  • Post and check bills, credit notes, and credit card payments
  • Log disbursements and counsel fee invoices
  • Handle international payments and disbursement payments
  • Manage matter closures and write-offs
  • Open supplier accounts
  • Manage retained funds and ensure timely return to clients
  • Maintain accurate financial records (banking, transfers, petty cash)
  • Calculate client interest
  • Provide and update client statements
  • Assist with month-end and year-end procedures
  • Produce time reports
  • Contact suppliers for statements of accounts
The person:
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload
  • Meet deadlines and multitask effectively
  • Confident and cheerful demeanor
Education & Experience:
  • GCSEs or equivalent (A-C in Maths and English)
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a law firm
  • Knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules
  • Strong IT skills, especially Excel
  • Experience with accounting/practice management systems (ideally P4W)
