The Food Service Key Account Development Manager is responsible for driving the sales and distribution of our clients products within the mainstream foodservice channel-particularly in the UK-by building long-term relationships with key wholesalers and operators, developing and executing business plans, regularly engaging with stakeholders to gather market insights, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure successful implementation and sustained sales growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sales growth and broaden product distribution, including new product development (NPD).

  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with key wholesalers and foodservice operators.

  • Identify and pursue sponsorships and partnerships that support commercial objectives.

  • Provide feedback on customer opportunities and initiate targeted plans.

  • Engage new potential stakeholders and expand the customer base.

  • Deliver product knowledge training to wholesaler sales teams.

  • Support the achievement of annual sales shipment targets.

  • Monitor market trends, competitive activities, and pricing strategies.

  • Plan and evaluate trade activities implemented through wholesalers.

  • Represent the brand in key customer meetings and industry events.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective execution of strategies.

  • Analyse and report on sales and distribution performance.

  • Protect brand integrity and ensure consistent brand representation in the local market.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; a business or marketing background is a plus.

  • Proven experience in FMCG sales, particularly with mainstream wholesalers.

Skills & Requirements
  • Legal right to work in the UK and ability to travel within Europe.

  • Fluent in spoken and written English.

  • Valid driving licence for the UK and Europe.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office for reporting and analysis.

  • Flexible working hours, including weekends, and willingness to travel frequently.

  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.

  • Strong customer focus and relationship-building skills.

  • Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.

  • Well-organised and detail-oriented.

  • Passionate about Chinese cuisine; familiarity with commercial kitchens is a plus.
