Research Scientist – Polymer ChemistryLocation: London (On-site, R&D Laboratory – ideally 5 days per week)Salary: £40,000 – £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)A leading polymer manufacturer developing innovative solutions to help create a more sustainable future.We are seeking a high-performing Research Scientist to join our London-based R&D team of 16 people in London (35 globally). Great role for a passionate scientist with a PhD in Polymer Chemistry who thrives in a hands-on lab environment.Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct innovative research and development in polymer chemistry, focusing on next-generation biodegradable plastics.
  • Work with and maintain laboratory equipment, including troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Collaborate with a global team to design, execute, and analyse experiments.
  • Apply critical thinking and problem-solving to complex polymer science challenges.
Requirements
  • PhD in Polymer Chemistry (post-PhD experience beneficial).
  • Strong knowledge of polymer science; polyolefin expertise is highly advantageous.
  • Practical experience with laboratory equipment maintenance and repair is a huge plus.
  • Exceptional scientific and analytical skills with a proven ability to work independently.
