We are looking for a Biomedical Scientist to join a Histology team based in their private laboratories. You will be able to demonstrate your post-HCPC registration experience in Histology and participate in the production of histology sections for microscopic examination which includes biopsy/specimen transfer, tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, special stains, microscopy and frozen sections.

Requirements
- BSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent.
- HCPC registered.
- Working at a Senior/Band 7 level.
- Experience in Histology is essential.
- Completed IBMS specialist portfolio.
- MSc is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Practice and maintain HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
- Following laboratory policies and procedures inline with ISO 15189 and UKAS accreditation.
- Conduct unsupervised routine and complex investigations and analysis if tissue samples.
- Carry out tasks relating to the day to day organisation and delivery of the pathology services.
- Liaising with Pathologists for the introduction and development of new techniques.
- Assist the Service Lead in with departmental policies and procedures to ensure efficient delivery of Histology services.
- Assist the Service Lead with strategies for training and development of all staff.
- Assisting with the developing and maintaining of contingency plans for the department.
