IMC Group is actively seeking an experienced Senior Biomedical Scientist join a leading laboratory. This is a fantastic opportunity to take your career to the next level in a cutting-edge environment, working alongside expert professionals in the field.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine analytical testing on a range of biological samples.
  • Conduct data analysis and authorisation within professional capacity.
  • Review and release results through the LIMS system.
  • Ensure timely processing of patient samples and maintain turnaround times.
  • Identify and report abnormal or unexpected results, liaising with clinicians.
  • Troubleshoot specimen or analytical equipment issues.
  • Oversee and manage EQA schemes, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain laboratory stock control and ordering processes.
  • Provide expert guidance and field telephone inquires related to test results.
  • Accurately record data, write reports and share findings.
  • Train and mentor junior lab staff to support team development.
  • Participate in new equipment evaluation and testing methods.
  • Support the Quality Management System (ISO 15189) and comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in routine audits and continuous laboratory improvements.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.

Requirements:

  • Strong technical skills across pathology disciplines and LIMS usage.
  • Minimum 5 years post-HCPC registration experience in a multidisciplinary lab.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD) and commitment to high professional standards.
  • Expertise in analytical techniques and laboratory IT systems.
  • Degree accredited by IBMSin Biomedical Science, Biological, Medical, or Health Science disciplines.
  • MSc and/or IBMS Specialist Portfolio completion (preferred)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and IT skills.
  • Ability to train and support team members in understanding SOPs.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a team-oriented environment.
