Here’s your opportunity to join the dynamic Medicine and Healthcare team of a leading global academic publisher, seeking Commissioning Editors to play a pivotal role in shaping their medicine and healthcare journals. We are looking for 3 journal publishing professionals who are looking to advance their careers and work closely with some of the world’s leading experts in clinical research and drug development, while gaining a strong working knowledge of journal operations. These roles are offered on a hybrid basis with 3 days in the London office and 2 days working from home. Reporting to the Commissioning Team Manager, you will be responsible for: Commissioning high quality and relevant content - identifying and developing engaging articles that resonate with the organisation’s readership. Developing a thorough understanding of key therapy areas and emerging topics in biomedical sciences through networking, social media and virtual/in person attendance at conferences. Collaborating closely with authors, editorial boards, and key opinion leaders to maintain a robust network. Overseeing Editorial Processes: Ensuring a smooth peer review and editorial decision-making process, maintaining the highest standards of quality. Conducting Reviews by regularly assessing processes to uphold industry-leading customer service. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in biomedical sciences who enjoys researching scientific literature. You will work alongside world-renowned experts in clinical research and drug development, gaining invaluable insights into journal operations at one of the largest global academic publishers. The Medicine & Health Commissioning team is a large and friendly team, where there’s lots of scope for personal growth and development. We are looking for: A degree in biomedical sciences, due to the nature of the role and its requirements Relevant experience in scientific/medical publishing or medical communications Experience with problem-solving, initiating debate, and making sure ideas are explored Strong time management, problem-solving abilities, and a genuine curiosity about the healthcare industry.
