What You'll Be Doing

Southwark Council’s Regulatory Services team is looking for a talented and motivated Business Analyst to join us on a 24-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to take the lead in shaping how we deliver services that make a real difference to people’s lives. You’ll play a pivotal role in capturing, analysing, and clearly articulating system requirements, ensuring that the needs of our residents and stakeholders are understood and met.

In this role, you won’t just be analysing processes – you’ll be helping to deliver positive change that improves services across Southwark, driving value and impact for one of London’s most vibrant communities.

As our Business Analyst, you’ll be central to driving effective solutions that improve outcomes. You will:

  • Gather and analyse business requirements, turning complex needs into clear, practical solutions.

  • Document processes and workflows, identifying challenges and opportunities for improvement.

  • Recommend system enhancements and process changes to deliver better outcomes.

  • Act as the bridge between stakeholders and project teams, ensuring clear and effective communication.

  • Support the testing and implementation of solutions that directly enhance our services.

You’ll work closely with Project Managers across Regulatory Services and Technology & Digital Services, playing a key role in the successful procurement and implementation of new systems.

What We're Looking For

We’re seeking an experienced and proactive Business Analyst who can bring both expertise and creativity to the role. You’ll have:

  • A strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing local government.

  • Highly developed analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, spot trends, and use insights to shape smarter strategies.

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, with knowledge of project management principles and agile methodologies.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to influence at all levels.

Additional Information

This is a 24-month fixed-term contract – giving you the chance to lead a major project from design through to delivery.
