Description

  • Build senior client relationships and act as the go to adviser on SAP enabled M&A: carve outs, separations, Day 1 readiness, TSA design and exit, and post merger integration.
  • Identify, qualify and convert opportunities: shape propositions, write winning bids, lead orals, and grow key accounts across private equity and corporates.
  • Deepen subject expertise: own a chosen sector and proposition, keep playbooks current for SAP S4HANA in M&A, and share best practice across the team.
  • Design complex programmes and lead day to day delivery: separation strategy, target architecture, data scope and migration, security and controls, testing and cutover.
  • Scope and price engagements: develop SoWs, effort and cost estimates, timelines and commercials, and negotiate standard fees.
  • Create thought leadership: publish practical points of view on SAP in M&A, TSA acceleration, clean team data approaches and value creation.
  • Build a strong internal and external network: collaborate with Strategy and Deal teams, wider consultancy capabilities, SAP and hyperscaler partners, and key SIs.
  • Manage risk and quality: apply the firm's risk management framework, run stage gates and delivery assurance, and ensure regulatory and independence compliance.
  • Lead and develop people: inspire and coach multi discipline teams, set clear goals, give constructive 360 feedback, and support career progression.
  • Drive practice development: codify toolkits and accelerators, improve delivery methods, and lead critical initiatives that scale the practice.

Profile

A successful Associate Director - M&A SAP should have:

  • Proven expertise in SAP systems within the context of mergers and acquisitions.
  • Strong consultancy experience in the professional services industry.
  • Ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of SAP integration and separation processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Capability to deliver results in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.Deep experience with SAP ERP products, ideally S 4HANA or ECC, with either post merger integration or carve out delivery in a divestiture setting
  • Proven record leading complex ERP programmes with multi disciplinary teams in consulting, corporate or public sector environments
  • Strong grasp of core business processes and ERP modules: Procurement, Materials Management, Inventory Management, Manufacturing, Warehouse Management, Finance and Controlling, plus integration to surrounding systems
  • Hands on leadership of data migration and reconciliation, including scope, cleansing, MDG, trial loads, and cutover
  • Ability to lead clients through acquisitions, divestitures, carve outs and integrations with an ERP focus, from strategy and blueprint to Day 1 and Day 2 stabilisation
  • Understanding of the deal lifecycle and the role of IT across diligence, separation planning, TSA design and exit, and value realisation
  • Commercial acumen to scope and price work, manage or support high value business development with senior stakeholders, and convert opportunities
  • Demonstrated ability to build and commercialise relationships with senior executives and to speak credibly with C level on sector issues and technology choices
  • Drive to develop new products and revenue streams for ERP based solutions in transactions and to scale reusable tools and accelerators
  • Track record of growing team capability through coaching, knowledge sharing, and method improvement
  • Structured problem solving that turns complex challenges into clear, practical recommendations that can be executed
Nice to have
  • Experience in private equity backed deals and fast cycle value creation
  • Exposure to SAP integration technologies such as CPI or PI PO and common middleware
  • Familiarity with SAP security and controls, testing at scale, and programme governanc
