Regulatory Business AnalystÂ

We are seeking a Business Analyst to join the Regulatory Technology team at a leading global bank. This is a contract role focused on transaction reporting across MiFID II, EMIR, and SFTR regimes. The ideal candidate will bring a unique blend of business analysis expertise and technical know-how, with a strong understanding of regulatory reporting, data transformation, and end-to-end implementation.
Key Responsibilities:-
Collaborate with Regulatory SMEs, Compliance, and Operations to gather and analyse requirements for MiFID, EMIR, and SFTR reporting.

Translate regulatory requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications.

Investigate and troubleshoot reporting issues, ensuring root cause analysis and resolution.

Design, enhance, and support regulatory transaction reporting solutions.

Work with structured/unstructured data to perform mapping and transformation.

Develop integrations with internal and external data providers to support accurate submissions.

Contribute to building and upgrading reporting platforms as needed.

Support the development and execution of test plans for regulatory reports.

Perform data quality checks and resolve discrepancies in reported transactions.

Assist in automation, regression testing, and report validation in collaboration with tech teams.

Act as the liaison between business users, Compliance, and technology teams.

Provide hands-on support for production issues and regulatory change initiatives.

Liaise with trade repositories (e.g., DTCC, UnaVista), vendors, and regulatory bodies as required.

Strong working knowledge of MiFID II, EMIR, and SFTR.

Familiarity with trade lifecycle, regulatory workflows, and post-trade reporting processes.

Experience engaging with trade repositories (DTCC, UnaVista, etc.).

Proficiency in SQL for data querying and validation.
-
Experience with data formats such as JSON, XML, FIX, and CSV.

Knowledge of ETL tools, APIs, and cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).

Familiarity with message queue systems (MQ), and version control (Git).

Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile practices.

Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence
