Our client is seeking a dedicated Conflict Analyst to join their robust Risk and Compliance function. This role offers the opportunity to work within a global team, ensuring professional practice is conducted in a compliant, risk-based manner that balances ethical obligations with business needs.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing commercial conflicts in line with global strategies and policies, while also providing out-of-hours conflict services for various offices.

What you'll do:

As a Conflict Analyst, you will be instrumental in ensuring our client's compliance with applicable legislative requirements while managing commercial conflicts. You will take full ownership of conflict checks, from initial review through to matter record creation. Your excellent problem-solving skills will be put to use as you identify sanctions related issues and escalate them appropriately. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with the Client Terms Team, providing valuable input on potential impacts of bespoke conflict terms. This role requires an individual who can work independently, particularly during out-of-hours service, but who can also collaborate effectively with team leaders and managers.

  • Review and clear medium to high complexity conflict checks
  • Take ownership of conflict checks throughout the entire process
  • Act as the first point of contact for any urgent out-of-hours conflict checks or queries
  • Work largely independently during the UK out-of-hours service with guidance from Team Leaders and Senior Conflicts Manager
  • Provide clear and concise out-of-hours escalations where required
  • Work alongside the Client Terms Team in the analysis of engagement terms
  • Identify sanctions related issues and escalate as required to the Financial Crime Team
  • Adhere to internal compliance policies and procedures

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Conflict Analyst position brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in legal compliance. With at least 2-3 year's experience in an international law firm, you are well-versed in handling complex legal issues. Your proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and knowledge of systems such as Elite/3E and Intapp Open will be crucial in this role. A bachelor's degree in law or equivalent experience is required, along with a relevant professional qualification. Your ability to analyse legal issues of varying complexity and produce accurate, reasoned opinions on regulatory matters sets you apart.
