Purpose of the Role:

As the Committees Team Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the Council's decision-making processes are transparent, efficient, and compliant with best practises. You will lead a team that is instrumental in facilitating scrutiny and governance, while also promoting active citizenship and public engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Committees Team, fostering a collaborative and proactive working environment.
  • Ensure that all decision-making processes adhere to the Council's constitution, internal standards, and relevant legislation.
  • Support and promote public participation in the Council's decision-making processes, empowering citizens to engage actively.
  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of committee meetings, reports, and documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with elected members, stakeholders, and the public to enhance democratic services.
