Rate:         £350 - £400 per day
About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Building Services Manager (Mechanical Bias) to oversee MEP coordination, installation, and commissioning on a large scale commercial development based in Central London for a leading Main Contractor.
This freelance position offers the opportunity to work with a leading main contractor on a prestigious Central London project.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the mechanical services delivery across multiple project stages — from design review through to commissioning and handover.
- Coordinate closely with electrical, architectural, and structural teams to ensure fully integrated building services solutions.
- Review technical submissions, drawings, and specifications for compliance and buildability.
- Manage subcontractors and suppliers to maintain programme, quality, and cost targets.
- Attend client and site progress meetings, providing technical input and reporting updates.
- Oversee commissioning activities and ensure documentation and O&M manuals are completed to standard.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Building Services Manager or MEP Manager, ideally within main contractor or client-side environments.
- Strong mechanical background (HVAC, public health, plant, and energy systems).
- Sound understanding of electrical systems and overall MEP integration.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Relevant mechanical or building services engineering qualifications (HNC/HND/Degree).
- SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid beneficial.
