My client a charity that has retail stores all over Southeast London is looking for a mobile maintenance lead to lead and maintain the shops and offices (26 properties in total)They are looking for someone that has experience in multiple trades (plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting and all maintenance of internal fabric etc) and ensuring that each site is compliant with fire safety, legionella and general health and safety.Whilst the vacancy is hands on the position would be leading the maintenance operation working closely with the estate and compliance manger to ensure effective output from contractors, take the lead of project work, and scheduling of works both planned and reactive.The position would also require reporting of incidents, and site audits including safety checks and annual inspections.Applicants would need to have sound knowledge of legionella, fire, gas, asbestos risk assessment, EICR, PAT testing, and other relevant building and maintenance related checksQualified in a trade/tradesDriving licence essential

Primary Job PurposeLead all maintenance matters across Trading properties, ensuring compliance and Health & Safety standards. Manage in-store building improvements, oversee maintenance issues, and develop relationships with contractors.
Key Responsibilities- Health & Safety: Ensure all premises-related Health & Safety requirements and checks are met.
- Repairs and Maintenance: Complete repairs to a high standard within agreed budgets and timelines.
- Proactive Maintenance: Implement plans to minimize future expenses or damage.
- Project Management: Oversee store improvements and new location fit-outs.
- Documentation: Track and log maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
- Reporting: Support the Estate and Compliance Manager with documentation and project work.
- Emergency Response: Provide 24-hour call-out availability for emergencies.
- Customer Focus: Prioritize business-critical repairs and respond quickly to reactive maintenance needs.
- Self-Management: Organize contractors, manage volunteer support, and handle project work efficiently.
- Working with Others: Liaise with store staff, management, and contractors to ensure smooth operations.
- Continuous Improvement: Commit to ongoing learning and development and participate in training.
