Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced HGV 2 Night Trunker to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely during night shifts. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and adherence to all driving regulations while ensuring timely deliveries.
Duties
- Operate HGV 2 vehicles for the transportation of goods across designated routes during night hours.
- Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, including flatbed operations when required.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as per company policy.
- Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies while driving.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transit.
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a commercial driver or delivery driver, preferably in a trunking role.
- Familiarity with flatbed operations is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in logistics.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently during night shifts.
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude towards customers and colleagues.
