Job Purpose:
To prepare and serve high-quality breakfast dishes to hotel guests in a timely and efficient manner, maintaining hygiene and food safety standards, and contributing to a smooth morning kitchen operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook breakfast items according to the hotels menu and presentation standards (including buffet and la carte options).
- Ensure food is prepared and served on time for guest service.
- Monitor stock levels for breakfast items and communicate replenishment needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all food preparation and service areas.
- Follow food safety guidelines and always ensure HACCP compliance.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of the breakfast area, including equipment cleaning.
- Minimise food waste and ensure portion control.
- Support with kitchen deliveries, storage, and stock rotation.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and front-of-house team to ensure smooth breakfast service.
- Provide a warm and approachable kitchen presence, interacting politely if required by guests.
- Report any equipment faults or maintenance issues to the Head or Sous Chef.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience as a breakfast chef or similar kitchen role in a hotel or restaurant.
- Knowledge of breakfast food preparation, including hot and cold dishes.
- Understanding of food hygiene and health & safety standards.
- Ability to work early morning shifts (typically starting between 5:006:00 AM).
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Relevant food hygiene certification preferred (e.g. Level 2 Food Safety).
Working Hours:
5:30 AM 1:30 PM, including weekends and bank holidays on rotation.
