We are currently recruiting for a Civilian Investigator to work on a full-time, long-term contract in Newlands Park, London.

The role is initially for a 6 month period, with a view to be extended.

The role is paying 20.98p per hour (PAYE)

The role will be situated within a Police Force, so applicants must be able to obtain national security vetting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review historic and recent DPS investigations involving allegations of Domestic Abuse or Sexual Misconduct by Police Officers or Police Staff.
  • Produce Briefing Notes and reports for review by NPCC Officers and senior stakeholders.
  • Re investigate cases as directed by the Senior Investigating Officer (SIO).


Essential Criteria:

  • Previous investigative experience.
  • Recent experience in a public protection environment.
  • Flexible approach to work and ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Strong report writing and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Understanding of:
  • Police Conduct Regulations
  • Police Reform Act
  • Police (Complaints and Misconduct) Regulations
  • Police (Performance) Regulations

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience handling complaints and misconduct.
  • Safeguarding experience (essential).
  • Intelligence background.
  • SOIT training.
  • Sapphire training or casework experience.
  • Experience working on complex investigations.
