We're hiring on behalf of our client, a leading global private markets investment firm, for a newly created Financial Data Steward role within their Portfolio Analytics team. This position is based in London and plays a vital part in shaping the firm's approach to financial data governance, quality, and reporting.
Role overview:As Financial Data Steward, you will champion best practices in data integrity across finance workstreams, ensuring that fund, portfolio, and investor-level datasets are complete, accurate, and reliable. You'll lead data quality initiatives, build internal dashboards, and work across teams to embed a culture of "right-first-time" data management.
Key responsibilities:
- Reconcile data across internal systems (GL, portfolio monitoring, CRM) and third-party sources (fund admins, custodians, vendors)
- Maintain the Finance Data Catalogue - defining ownership, lineage, and golden sources
- Build Power BI dashboards to track data quality metrics, reconciliation exceptions, and performance insights
- Define and enforce data quality rules to improve accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
- Provide training, documentation, and day-to-day support to enhance data literacy across Finance
About you:
- Experience reconciling complex financial datasets from internal and external sources
- Skilled in defining and monitoring data quality using KPIs and automated controls
- Proficient in Excel and Power BI for analysis and reporting
- Strong communication skills and confidence working across business, technical, and analytics teams
- Detail-oriented with sound analytical judgement and a proactive mindset
