A leading international law firm is looking to appoint a dynamic and commercially minded Business Development Manager to support its Energy, Infrastructure, and Natural Resources practice groups. This is a fantastic opportunity for a BD professional with strong sector knowledge to take ownership of strategic initiatives in a fast-paced, high-profile area of the business.

The Role:

Working closely with Partners and senior stakeholders, you will play a central role in shaping and delivering business development strategies across the Energy, Infrastructure, and Natural Resources sectors. You will be instrumental in identifying growth opportunities, enhancing client relationships, and raising the profile of the firm's market-leading offering in these critical industries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute business development and client relationship strategies aligned with practice group goals.
  • Lead on the preparation of high-impact pitches, proposals, capability statements and panel submissions.
  • Collaborate with the wider BD and marketing teams on integrated campaigns, thought leadership and sector-focused initiatives.
  • Monitor market trends, track competitor activity, and provide insights to inform strategic planning and client targeting.
  • Work closely with key Partners to support client development plans, cross-selling initiatives and internal practice growth.
  • Coordinate and deliver sector-specific events, sponsorships, and client engagement opportunities.
  • Manage profile-raising efforts including awards, directories and strategic PR opportunities for the groups.

Suitable candidates will have;

  • Proven experience in a business development role within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • A solid understanding of the energy, infrastructure or natural resources sectors, or demonstrable experience supporting sector-based BD efforts.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead initiatives and work collaboratively across teams.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders and Partners.
  • A proactive, commercial mindset with the ability to identify and convert opportunities.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
