Modernisation Sales Manager

A leading UK lift and escalator specialist is expanding its modernisation division. The company is known for innovation, strong engineering standards, and excellent customer service. This is a great opportunity to join a growing team and shape the future of building mobility.
As a Modernisation Sales Manager, you will drive revenue growth by identifying upgrade opportunities, assessing lift equipment, and securing modernisation projects. You will guide customers through technical solutions and deliver high-quality proposals from first enquiry to contract award.
What you will do

  • Identify and secure modernisation opportunities with new and existing customers.
  • Carry out detailed site surveys to assess condition, compliance, and upgrade needs.
  • Prepare technical proposals, quotations, and full tender submissions.
  • Achieve annual sales targets and KPIs.
  • Build strong relationships with building owners, property managers, consultants, and facilities teams.
  • Provide expert advice on regulations, lifecycle planning, and modernisation solutions.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from enquiry to contract.
  • Work with engineering and project teams to develop competitive solutions.
  • Ensure proposals comply with EN81, LOLER, PUWER, and industry standards.
  • Prepare cost estimates, method statements, and risk assessments.
  • Track market trends and competitor activity.
  • Produce sales forecasts and contribute to strategic growth planning.

What you need

  • Proven lift industry sales experience, ideally in modernisation or major repairs.
  • Strong technical understanding of lift systems and components.
  • Ability to conduct site surveys and convert findings into commercial proposals.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Confident with CRM systems and MS Office.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Engineering background (electrical or mechanical) desirable.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
