Role Overview:Â We are seeking a polished and organised Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our team. This role is pivotal in building pipelines of strategic clients and opening doors for new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the UK energy market, particularly within the supplier sector, and will be adept at direct sales and client relationship management.
This role is focused exclusively on Business Development. Once a client is onboarded, they will be managed by the Direct Account Management team. Therefore, we are seeking a dedicated sales professional who is a true go-getter, perseveres through challenges, and has a long-term vision for success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage pipelines of strategic clients.
- Open up new business opportunities and drive direct sales efforts.
- Work closely with 3 Business Development Managers, 3 Business Development Executives and Account Managers.
- Maintain visibility in the office and actively engage with customers locally.
- Promote the suite of products, including gas and electricity, green certificates, financial derivatives, and commodity contracts.
- Focus on flexible contracts with significant energy consumption (50 million KWH and above).
- Interact with direct sales teams and manage relationships with top energy consumers in the UK, including companies like Jaguar Land Rover, Amazon, Google, Meta, and HS2.
- Drive sustainability initiatives and risk management solutions.
- Achieve annual sales targets and contribute to the company's growth.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in business development within the energy sector.
- Strong knowledge of the UK energy market and supplier dynamics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think on your feet and drive results.
- Experience with financial derivatives and commodity contracts is a plus.
- Familiarity with green certificates and risk management products.
- Ability to manage and grow a portfolio rapidly.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive basic salary of £75,000 - £85,000.
- Current bonus structure in place, soon to change to a lucrative commission structure.
- Hybrid working structure – 1 day in the office. Flexible working hours with core hours between 10am and 3pm.
