A global, mission-led organisation at the forefront of defence and security innovation is looking for a Senior Commercial Manager to lead commercial strategy and contract management across a portfolio of complex, multi-million-pound programmes.

Working with a talented cross-functional team, this person will be instrumental in shaping commercial outcomes, supporting national defence clients, and ensuring best-in-class contractual performance across sectors such as Cyber, Aerospace, and Maritime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead commercial and contract management activities on major defence programmes
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies to maximise value and manage risk
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts and agreements
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and governance frameworks
  • Support business development efforts including bid strategy, pricing, and customer negotiations
  • Act as the commercial point of contact for internal stakeholders and customers
  • Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team
  • Manage contract changes, performance, and lifecycle through to closure

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a commercial/contracts management role, ideally within the defence, aerospace, or secure government sectors within a customer facing role
  • Strong understanding of UK government contracting, including MOD frameworks and DEFCONs
  • Skilled negotiator with experience managing complex contracts and agreements
  • Confident working cross-functionally with project, legal, and finance teams
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, regulated environment
