Our client, a dynamic and rapidly growing UK-based FinTech company, is seeking an exceptional Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead their engineering and product development.

This is an exciting new role, joining a thriving FinTech innovator that is a Principal Member of major card schemes, specializing in card issuing, merchant acquiring, and cutting-edge payment solutions. You'll be instrumental in shaping the technological future of a company that is empowering businesses globally to manage and grow their payment ecosystems.

Duties of the CTO to include:

  • As the CTO, you will be the driving force behind the technological strategy and execution. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Strategic Technology Leadership: Define, articulate, and execute the company's overarching technology vision and strategy, ensuring it aligns with business goals and market opportunities.
  • Product Development & Innovation: Oversee the entire product lifecycle, fostering a culture of innovation and driving the development of new features and solutions in card issuing, acquiring, and digital payment platforms.
  • Platform Scalability & Security: Ensure the continuous evolution, stability, scalability, and robust security of the core payment infrastructure, adhering to the highest industry standards (e.g., PCI DSS, ISO 27001).
  • Engineering Excellence: Lead, mentor, and expand a high-performing engineering and development team, promoting best practices in software development, architecture, and agile methodologies.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Partner closely with compliance and risk teams to ensure all technological solutions meet stringent regulatory requirements (e.g., PSD2, GDPR).
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with the CEO, executive team, product, sales, and operations to translate business needs into technical solutions and deliver exceptional value to clients.
  • Technology Scouting: Identify and evaluate emerging technologies (e.g., AI, blockchain) that can enhance offerings and provide a competitive edge.

Requirements for the successful CTO to include:

  • Extensive FinTech Experience: Deep expertise in payment processing, card issuing, merchant acquiring, or related financial technology domains.
  • Technical Acumen: Strong background in building and scaling complex, highly available, and secure software platforms.
  • Leadership & Management: Demonstrated experience leading and growing diverse engineering teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to translate complex business challenges into clear technological strategies and actionable roadmaps.
  • Security & Compliance: Profound understanding of payment security standards (PCI DSS) and financial regulations (e.g., PSD2, GDPR).
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Languages: Russian language skills high desirable
