Room Leader

We at Zero2Five are proud to be working for a leading childcare provider,

who are looking to employ a Level 3 Room Leader for their vibrant nursery setting in Colindale, London. The successful candidate will join their trained and experienced team in

deliver the highest standards of childcare possible. This is an exciting opportunity for either an experienced Room Leader, or a Level 3 Qualified Nursery Practitioner, who is looking too take the next step in their career!  

Requirements

  • Minimum of a relevant and recognized Level 3 qualification
  • Experience of working in an early years setting
  • Possess a level of general computer literacy with a range of IT skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Knowledge of Child Development and children’s needs

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct peer observations on staff – once a month and feed back to Manager
  • Carry out new children’s inductions and transitions with their parents, completing accurately their baseline assessment.
  • Team room meetings once a week and to conduct a room leader meeting with the manager once a month
  • Staff rota is run effectively and efficiently including covering lunch breaks
  • To complete any duties given to you from the Manager, Deputy or Director.
  • To ensure that the correct resources are available for meal-times, circle time, sleep, activities, registration and nursery outings.
  • Supervise temporary, agency staff, volunteers and work experiences ensuring that the Induction Checklist is fully and accurately completed.
  • Monitor and check the children’s trackers –ensuring their key worker is keeping up to date and information is accurate.
  • Ensure new children have the correct resources needed before their start date
  • Collaborate with other staff members and senior leaders to ensure the delivery of a high-quality early year’s education.
  • Monitor children’s progress and development.
