Introduction:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Drainage Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing, planning, and managing drainage systems for a range of projects, including residential, commercial, and infrastructure development. As a Drainage Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring effective drainage solutions that meet both regulatory standards and environmental guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Planning: Develop detailed designs and layouts for surface and underground drainage systems. Ensure that designs are in compliance with local authority standards and regulations.

  • Technical Analysis: Conduct hydraulic and hydrological analysis to determine the best drainage systems for specific sites, including stormwater, sewer systems, and flood management.

  • Site Surveys: Perform site assessments and drainage surveys to assess existing systems, identify issues, and recommend improvements.

  • Project Management: Manage and oversee drainage engineering projects, from design through to construction. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to required standards.

  • Environmental Considerations: Ensure that drainage systems are designed to minimize environmental impact and adhere to sustainability goals.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with architects, civil engineers, and other specialists to ensure drainage solutions integrate seamlessly into the overall design.

  • Compliance: Ensure all drainage systems comply with local and national regulations, including flood risk management, water quality standards, and environmental protection laws.

  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare technical reports, specifications, and documentation for project approval, including cost estimates and risk assessments.

  • Maintenance & Inspection: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance checks on drainage systems to ensure their functionality and efficiency.

  • Client Interaction: Communicate with clients and stakeholders to understand their requirements, provide updates, and address any concerns related to drainage solutions.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: A degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in drainage design software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroDrainage, Civil 3D, or similar tools).

  • Knowledge of Regulations: Familiarity with local drainage codes, environmental regulations, and sustainable drainage practices.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills to solve complex drainage issues and design challenges.

  • Project Management: Experience in managing engineering projects, including working with contractors, consultants, and clients.
