Flood Risk & Drainage Engineer

Salary: 30,000 - 40,000 (dependent on experience) + bonus + hybrid working + flexible working hours and more

Location: Central London

Emtech are working with a growing Civil Engineering, Flood Risk & Transport Consultancy operating mainly in the private sector. They are a growing company who work on a wide range of projects across London and the South of England.

As part of their exciting strategy for growth they are expanding their existing Flood Risk Management team and are looking for consultant with 2-5 years experience to support their flood risk assessment and drainage assessment work. This role involves supporting senior colleagues to work with clients and stakeholders.

To be successful you will need to be confident in developing FRAs in discussion with the Client team as well as liaising with the various consultees (EA/LLFA etc). Ideally you will also have, or wish to develop, experience in delivering drainage and SuDS strategies.

Much of their work supports their clients projects to progress site allocations through the Local Plan process alongside planning applications for residential and commercial developments and so experience of the planning process and delivering the right product for the right purpose is desirable.

Experience required:

Essential

  • Degree in relevant discipline
  • Experience in delivery of Flood Risk Assessments
  • Good knowledge of NPPF and associated guidance
  • Experience in MapInfo or ArcGis
  • Good Written Skills
  • Desire to take ownership of technical project tasks.

Desirable

  • Higher degree
  • Membership of CIWEM or equivalent or working towards
  • Experience of flood modelling, TUFLOW & Flood Modeller Pro
  • Experience of surface water drainage strategy/design
