Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluating and processing planning and highway development applications
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant highway legislation, policies, and standards
  • Conducting site visits to assess proposed development impacts on the highway network
  • Providing technical advice and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders
  • Reviewing and approving highway designs and transport assessments
  • Managing and coordinating responses to consultations regarding development proposals
  • Liaising with developers, consultants, and other relevant parties to resolve development control issues
  • Monitoring and ensuring the implementation of development-related highway agreements


Job Requirements:

  • Experience in highways development control or a related discipline
  • Strong understanding of highway design standards and relevant legislation
  • Ability to review and assess planning applications and transport assessments
  • Proficiency in conducting site visits and preparing technical reports
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and independently
  • Relevant engineering or planning degree or equivalent qualification
