Principal / Senior Civil Engineer


Location: Central London
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 (DOE)

Join a well-established multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy based in the heart of Central London, seeking a Principal or Senior Civil Engineer with 5+ years’ experience in drainage, highways, and road design.


This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing civils team (currently 8 people), within a supportive London office of 19, and a wider business of around 60 professionals. You’ll work across a diverse project portfolio – including industrial, commercial, residential, retail, healthcare, and leisure developments – while playing a key role in project delivery and team leadership.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading and mentoring a team of engineers from apprentice to experienced levels
  • Client liaison for project delivery and developing new opportunities
  • Designing drainage, roads, earthworks, and infrastructure across a variety of sectors
  • Producing drawings from concept through to construction stage
  • Preparing Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies, Service Reports, and SuDS designs
  • Working on technical approvals for Section 104, 38, 278 and other relevant consents
  • Carrying out site audits, feasibility studies, and swept path assessments

 
What You’ll Need

  • A degree in Civil Engineering (or similar)
  • At least 5 years’ experience in UK civil engineering consultancy work
  • Strong report writing skills – e.g. Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Statements
  • Experience with AutoCAD and drainage design software such as Micro Drainage
  • Familiarity with Auto Track for swept path analysis
  • Working knowledge of ground modelling software for road and earthworks design
