Project Engineer – RC frames & Groundworks

Initial Projects – Wandsworth, Cambridge, Bristol, Barking

£330 - £360 per day - Depending on experience

The Opportunities:

As the Project Engineer you will be expected to support the project manager with a variety of tasks including the basics of quality control, temporary works, health & safety, design and supervising the engineering team. With this we are also looking for candidates who can take the lead, overseeing individual RC frame packages while reporting to the onsite Project Manager. These roles offer the possibility to progress to Project Management within a short period of time (1-2 years) if candidates can show the drive, organisation and technical ability.

The Company:

Our client is a leading name in the RC frame & groundwork subcontract sector in and around London. They have a strong flow of work and a reputation that sets them aside from a large amount of their competition.  With an annual turnover of over £200m per annum their primary work area is London and the surrounding counties and usual package values range from £10 million up to £50 million each.

The Requirements:

Candidates must be degree qualified in civil engineering and must have a strong, stable career having worked for RC frame and groundwork subcontractors.

Post graduate experience needs to be a minimum of 3 years and ideally candidates will be project engineering already with a rival contractor. The initial projects are based in Wandsworth, Cambridge, Bristol or Barking and further projects will follow in and around London. Initial packages are valued between £15m to £45m each and will include slip-form cores and multi storey reinforced concrete frames (plus associated groundwork’s). Because of this and future work load, candidates should be based in or around London / South East (or Cambridge or Bristol).

The Offer:

For this opportunity, I am targeting candidates looking to earn anywhere from £330 to £360 per day. I am happy to consider people who are CIS, PAYE or self-employed.

Your Consultant:

My name is Andrew Jackson and I am one of the founding directors of Cityscape Recruitment Ltd. I have over 18 years of experience in civil engineering & construction recruitment, during which time, I have specialised in the niche sectors of concrete frames, groundworks, basement construction, and demolition.

So, what does that mean for you? It means you won’t be trusting your career to a rookie who’s just out to place you wherever they can. I work with the vast majority of the groundwork & concrete frame businesses in the UK and I can help not only introduce you but can give you up-to-date information on each of them (the good parts and the less positive parts – none of them are perfect, but some are pretty close), helping you make an informed decision so you can take your career forward. I’ve been doing this for a fair while now and I’ve maintained a positive reputation doing what I do because I don’t mislead people. I tell them everything I know and then let them choose. My job is to get you the options you want, give you the information you need, and then let you decide what feels right for you.
