As a Principal Civil Engineer, you'll play a key role in leading multidisciplinary design teams, providing technical direction, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, buildable, and sustainable civil engineering solutions. Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee the civil design and delivery of water and wastewater treatment projects.
Produce and review technical reports, specifications, and construction drawings.
Undertake design calculations and analysis using industry-standard software.
Coordinate civil design with mechanical, electrical, and process engineering disciplines.
Conduct site visits, inspections, and provide technical support during construction.
Mentor junior engineers and ensure quality assurance across all outputs.
Support business development activities, including bid preparation and client engagement.
Maintain compliance with UK design standards, legislation, and best practice guidance.
8 Years' Experience
BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards professional status (ICE/IStructE/CIWEM).
Minimum 8 years' experience delivering civil engineering designs in the UK water sector.
Strong leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills.
High-level competence in design tools such as Tekla, TEDDS, STAAD, or AutoCAD.
Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required.
