Key Responsibilities:
- Processing a full range of planning application consultations, from small developments to major regeneration schemes.
- Handling highway applications, including S184, S38, and S278 applications under the Highways Act 1980.
- Providing transportation, traffic, highway, and parking input to the Development Control process.
- Ensuring the integration of land use and transport policies.
- Maximising financial contributions from development to mitigate the impact on local highways and transport systems.
- Scoping requirements for traffic surveys and transport impact studies for planning applications.
- Reviewing technical documents and studies, providing professional reports and evidence for planning appeals.
- Attending Planning Committees and pre-application meetings, advising on highway matters.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in development management, transport planning, and highway development control.
- Knowledge of traffic planning development, transport policies, and relevant legislation.
- Proficiency in programme and project management, with the ability to supervise multiple projects simultaneously.
- Full driving licence and own means of transport.
- Excellent IT, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong budgetary management skills.
Essential Qualifications:
- Qualified to a minimum of ONC/HNC, ideally Degree level, in Civil or Highway Engineering / Transportation.
- Membership of an appropriate highway institution (desirable).
