A highly regarded Local Authority is looking to recruit a Strategic Asset Manager on a interim basis to play a key role in their Savings and Transformation programme.

You will be responsible for the following:

  • To lead development of the Council’s capital project and asset management business cases, options appraisals and feasibility, using technical expertise, to unlock development/remodelling/refurbishment opportunities, improve utilisation efficiencies across the portfolio, ensure that the right services are in the right buildings in the right location, and release potential disposal opportunities, whilst maintaining the quality of services provided from the buildings.
  • Provide technical advice and expertise on complex property issues, arising from projects to ensure informed decisions are made on the management of and investment in the Council’s property assets using the principles established in the asset strategy.
  • Ensure there are fair, transparent and consistent processes and guidance in place for the Council for undertaking and assessing options appraisals, feasibility (including use of Net Present Value for cost/benefit analysis) and business cases and value for money on any proposals or projects that involve property ensuring compliance, rigour, due diligence and best practice.

This assignment is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced interim who has worked across Local Authorities, Housing Associations and the wider Civil Service Property & Asset Management teams and looking to work on a high-profile transformation programme.
