BMS Technical Estimator

Job Title: BMS Technical EstimatorLocation: Regional with 2 days a week in Colchester officeSalary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus great benefits package.

Job Description:

I am seeking a skilled BMS (Building Management Systems) Technical Estimator to join my client’s team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing accurate estimates and technical support for BMS projects across our regional operations, with regular attendance at our Colchester office.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Estimation: Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for BMS projects, considering all relevant factors such as materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
2. Technical Support: Provide technical expertise and support to internal teams, including sales, engineering, and project management, throughout the project lifecycle.
3. Client Interaction: Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements and offer technical guidance during the bidding process.
4. Cost Analysis: Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documents to determine the most cost-effective solutions while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
5. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of project estimates, including assumptions, calculations, and any deviations from standard practices.
6. Vendor Relations: Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing and technical information necessary for accurate estimates.
7. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance estimation accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Technical Estimator, preferably within the BMS or HVAC industry.
• Strong understanding of building systems and construction practices.
• Proficiency in estimation software and MS Office suite.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel within the region and spend two days per week in the Colchester office.
