Your new companyYou'll be working for a charity located in the South East. This organisation invests income from their properties to support education, elderly housing, and community maintenance. Additionally, they fund seven schools across Dulwich, Orpington, and London through direct support or foundation trusts. Your new roleThe successful candidate will collaborate with the Principal Building Surveyor and the Building Surveying Department to assist in all aspects of property repair, maintenance, and improvement, while performing general building surveying duties. Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist in implementing and delivering strategic goals and specific projects.
  • Ensure property portfolio compliance with Health and Safety legislation and the Building Safety Act.
  • Conduct regular inspections, prepare reports, budgets, specifications, and oversee repair and maintenance works.
  • Manage stakeholder interactions, including tenants, contractors, and internal/external enquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements, including the Party Wall Act and section 20 works.
  • Contribute to sustainability initiatives and manage maintenance requests for amenity areas.
  • Maintain records of property repairs and maintenance, assist with insurance claims, and manage financial processes like raising purchase orders and approving invoices.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Member of the RICS with a proven track record of professional competency
  • Previous experience in surveying / property management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage difficult conversations
  • Strong MS Office skills, CAD and ability to learn and use different systems
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Must have your own car and a clean driving licence
