Fire Door Installation Engineer- Role and Responsibilities:

  • Work both independently and as part of a team, depending on the task at hand.
  • Maintain regular communication with the management team to ensure efficient workflow and reporting.
  • Carry out inspections and assessments of existing fire-rated doors to determine required repairs or replacements.
  • Install fire-rated doors in line with current fire safety regulations, health and safety standards, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Fit and maintain associated fire door hardware, including locks, hinges, door closers, and panic bars.
  • Ensure all installations comply with relevant fire safety standards, including fire ratings, smoke seals, and correct door clearances.
  • Keep detailed and accurate records of all installations, inspections, and repairs.
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Keep the work area clean and tidy, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
  • Be willing and able to travel to various sites as needed.

Fire Door Installation Engineer- Skills & Experience:

  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Experience in all aspects of fire door inspection, installation, and maintenance (essential)
  • Strong understanding of fire safety regulations, carpentry skills, and excellent attention to detail (essential)
  • NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry (essential)
  • Awareness of health and safety standards, with a commitment to safe working practices
