Rate: £500 to £680 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract length: Initial 12 months, with likely extensions
Location: London (hybrid – 3 days per week in the office)

This role sits within the Systems and Integration function of a major rail infrastructure programme. You will be responsible for leading and coordinating system safety activities across multiple disciplines and lifecycle stages.

You will work closely with technical leads, stakeholders and independent assessors to ensure safety compliance and robust hazard management throughout the programme.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience in rail system safety roles
  • Strong working knowledge of CSM-RA and its application
  • Experience chairing HAZIDs, HAZOPs and hazard review meetings
  • Ability to develop and maintain Hazard Records and system safety deliverables
  • Experience managing safety interfaces across multiple disciplines
  • Confident stakeholder engagement and reporting skills

Desirable

  • Experience supporting independent assessments and assurance processes
  • Familiarity with interfaces such as CDM, PRAM, human factors and environmental risk
