Director of Clinical Services

Roehampton, London

We are recruiting an exceptional Director of Clinical Services to provide visionary leadership across a high-performing healthcare service in Roehampton. This is a strategic and operational leadership role that will shape clinical excellence, drive innovation, and ensure the consistent delivery of safe, patient-centred care.

As a core member of the senior management team, you'll collaborate closely with the site leadership team to enhance quality, safety, and service development across all clinical departments.

Key Responsibilities for the Director of Clinical Services:

Act as Deputy to the Site Leader, ensuring continuity and oversight during their absence.

Provide strong leadership across clinical governance, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.

Oversee clinical staffing, workforce planning, and budgetary control.

Ensure safe staffing levels and maintain oversight of clinical rosters.

Champion multidisciplinary collaboration and effective team performance.

Support delivery of the Site Improvement Plan and lead on local quality initiatives.

Participate in the senior management on-call rota.

Professional Leadership & Development

Act as the professional lead for nursing and allied health professionals.

Ensure compliance with clinical regulations and uphold best practice standards.

Lead or support professional investigations and regulatory processes.

Oversee continuous professional development (CPD) and supervise clinical training placements.

Drive medicines management, policy development, and clinical risk frameworks.

Promote a strong culture of reflective practice and clinical supervision.

Contribute to recruitment, retention, and talent development strategies.

Quality Improvement & Governance

Lead a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and innovation.

Oversee audits, inspections, and governance reporting to support CQC compliance.

Line manage the Associate Director of Clinical Services.

Build local capacity in quality leadership, assurance, and service compliance.

? Requirements for the Director of Clinical Services:

NMC Registered Nurse (RMN, RGN, or RNLD) with a minimum of 5 years post-registration experience.

Proven track record in a clinical leadership role within hospital, community, or residential care settings.

Deep knowledge of healthcare regulation, clinical governance, and service delivery.

Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Experience in at least one of the following areas:

Acute Mental Health

Addictions

CAMHS

Eating Disorders
