COMMERCIAL MANAGER - TECHNOLOGY CONTRACTSLONDON OR PORTSMOUTHHYBRID WORKING (2 DAYS IN THE OFFICE, 3 FROM HOME)PERMANENT ROLERole Overview:Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment are presently representing a globally operating, UK headquartered IT services and consulting firm with deep expertise in end-to-end technology solutions in their search for a Commercial Manager to join their Commercial Contracts and Supply Chain team.The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving and supporting the commercial processes of the business. This position works across the full lifecycle of customer engagements-from initial RFP/BID process through supporting legal team with negotiation, into programme management and delivery, and finally supporting a seamless transition into operational service. The role ensures effective execution of the established commercial strategy while facilitating continuous improvement in processes and outcomes.Key Accountabilities:Bid & Proposal Support:

  • Provide commercial input into RFPs, bids, and tenders, ensuring competitive and profitable pricing models.
  • Collaborate with pre-sales, sales, solution architects, and finance teams to structure commercially viable proposals.
  • Assess risks and opportunities within bid submissions and develop mitigation strategies.

Contract Management

  • Ensure contract aligns with business objectives.
  • Define commercial frameworks that support long-term profitability and risk management.
  • Ensure contracts are structured to facilitate smooth programme delivery and operational handover.
  • Ensure all agreements and Statement of Works are saved in accordance with company processes

Programme Management & Delivery Enablement

  • Provide commercial oversight during programme execution, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Monitor financial performance, revenue recognition, and cost management throughout project delivery.
  • Support change management processes, ensuring commercial implications are properly assessed and managed. This includes drafting and reviewing change control notifications.

Operational Integration & Service Transition

  • Ensure commercial models for ongoing service delivery, including pricing, SLAs, and performance incentives are clearly aligned to contractual agreements.
  • Ensure seamless onboarding of contracts into operational functions, supporting service management teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement in commercial processes to enhance efficiency and profitability.

About You:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent (Law degree is preferable)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a contract management /commercial contracts role within the technology sector
  • Extensive experience in successfully negotiating and managing high-value, commercial contracts including outsourcing agreements, strategic partnerships, and framework arrangements within the technology sector
  • Significant experience working within a legal function whilst effectively collaborating with Sales, Procurement, Compliance and operational team and other business stakeholders to drive commercial outcomes
