About the Role:We are seeking an experienced and driven Commercial Manager to lead and oversee the commercial function across multiple high-profile M&E projects in London. This is a full-time, office-based role responsible for managing a team of 5–6 Quantity Surveyors and ensuring commercial success across a diverse portfolio of commercial developments.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage a team of Quantity Surveyors, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance oversight.
- Oversee the commercial aspects of multiple M&E projects, ensuring profitability, cost control, and contractual compliance.
- Administer and manage contracts in accordance with JCT forms of contract, ensuring all obligations are met.
- Prepare and review cost plans, budgets, valuations, and final accounts.
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities across projects.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of commercial performance to senior management.
- Support the tendering process, including subcontractor procurement and contract negotiation.
- Drive continuous improvement in commercial processes and team development.
- Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor within the M&E or construction sector.
- Strong working knowledge of JCT contracts and commercial management best practices.
- Demonstrated experience managing a team of Quantity Surveyors across multiple projects.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen.
- Proficient in relevant software (e.g., Excel, project management tools, estimating software).
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
