The Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Manager to take on a key leadership position within a major civil engineering and infrastructure programme. The role will involve overseeing commercial strategy, managing project finances, and ensuring effective contractual compliance across a portfolio of challenging and high-profile works.
Responsibilities

Lead and manage all commercial aspects of allocated projects, ensuring strong financial control and risk management

Oversee contract administration, with specific focus on NEC Option C contracts

Develop commercial strategy to maximise value and minimise risk

Manage subcontract procurement, negotiation, and performance

Provide leadership to the commercial team, supporting Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors in their development

Work closely with project and senior leadership teams to ensure alignment between commercial and operational delivery

Produce accurate reporting on costs, forecasts, and project performance
Candidate Requirements

Proven track record as a Commercial Manager, ideally within civil engineering or utilities

Strong and demonstrable experience working with NEC Option C contracts

Background in leading teams and developing commercial functions

Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
