Business Development /Sales Consultant- Merchant Payments - 12 month contract /hybrid
My blue chip client are looking for an experience and dynamic business development person to push card acceptance, through direct approach to merchants. Company has a target of merchants they want to onboard. Role is within the UK. Verticals being covered are airline, hotel, restaurant, travel, entertainment, transport. I The role involves building and maintaining a robust pipeline of new sales opportunities, engagement with merchants to drive company acceptance take-up, and collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure the sales cycle is completed & is delivering key KPI’s in acceptance.
Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.
Duties will involve in order of importance
Identifying leads, develops proposals, responds to RFP's and negotiates agreements direct to UK merchants, to maximize network acceptance. Strong negotiation skills to close deals.
Strategically identifies and creates innovative business cases to win new merchant acceptance deals with internal stakeholder buy-in (Pricing, Risk, AML, etc...).
Collaborate with internal teams and gather feedback from customers or prospects to identify, develop, and implement new sales opportunities.
Develop strong relationships to maintain and grow account relationships with internal and external partners to meet volume and revenue goals.
Participate in industry exhibitions and conferences.
To suit you will have previous experience in the payments industry ideally with cards. Good understanding of payments eco-system. Good understanding of merchants, acquiers.
Role is working Hybrid circa 2 days on site. Though this will vary depending on how much you are going to visit customers.
