About the Role of Junior Sous Chef
We're looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Junior Sous Chef to join our talented team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with our Head Chef and play a crucial role in the daily operations of our busy restaurant. While your culinary skills are essential, this role places a strong emphasis on your administrative abilities, meticulous ordering, and your capacity to support and manage our dedicated kitchen team.
What you'll be doing:
- Working alongside the Senior Chefs to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen.
- Taking the lead on all aspects of ordering, from sourcing high-quality ingredients to managing supplier relationships and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Masterfully handling kitchen administration, including stock control, inventory management, and maintaining accurate records.
- Supporting the Head Chef in leading and motivating the kitchen team, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
- Assisting with staff training and ensuring adherence to hygiene and safety standards.
- Stepping up in the Head Chef's absence, taking responsibility for the kitchen's daily operations.
- Contributing your creative flair and culinary expertise in the preparation and execution of our delicious dishes.
- Maintaining impeccable standards of cleanliness and organisation throughout the kitchen.
What you'll bring to the table:
- Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or a similar senior role in a busy kitchen environment.
- Exceptional organisational and administrative skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Demonstrable experience in managing ordering processes and stock control.
- Strong leadership potential and the ability to support and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for food and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Relevant culinary qualifications and a strong understanding of food hygiene regulations.
- A proactive and can-do attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.
- Experience working in a similar, fast-paced restaurant environment is highly desirable.
