M&E Supervisor (Mechanical Bias) - £51,000
Hard FM | Full-time | Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm | On-call rota
M&E Supervisor (Mechanical Bias) to lead and coordinate Hard FM service delivery across a large, multi-site estate. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will supervise engineers and subcontractors to ensure mechanical, electrical, fabric and grounds services are delivered safely, compliantly and to a high standard.
This role would suit a proactive, technically strong supervisor who enjoys managing people, improving performance and delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and performance of the Hard FM team, ensuring all reactive, planned and statutory maintenance activities are delivered effectively and on time. This includes:
- Supervising engineers and specialist subcontractors delivering mechanical, electrical, fabric and grounds services
- Managing reactive works, planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and small works through the CAFM system
- Monitoring KPIs, quality, compliance and service delivery
- Ensuring all statutory and regulatory requirements are met, including health & safety and compliance
- Carrying out audits, condition surveys and asset checks, producing reports and recommendations
- Reviewing and approving risk assessments and method statements from subcontractors
- Maintaining accurate records, job sheets and electronic documentation
- Managing remedial and small works arising from PPMs, inspections and reactive calls
- Chairing and contributing to site safety meetings and compliance reviews
- Building strong working relationships with site stakeholders and service partners
- Supervising the grounds maintenance team
- Providing cover for the Electrical Supervisor during periods of leave
- Participating in a 24-hour on-call rota for out-of-hours emergencies
- Working flexibly across multiple sites when required
Health, Safety & Compliance
You will play a key role in ensuring the site remains safe, compliant and audit-ready. This includes:
- Ensuring COSHH assessments and risk assessments are up to date
- Enforcing safe systems of work and company H&S policies
- Ensuring statutory inspections, PPMs and compliance checks are completed to standard
- Maintaining documentation to demonstrate full contractual and legal compliance
What They Are Looking For
- A mechanical background within building services or FM
- Experience supervising M&E or Hard FM teams
- Strong knowledge of PPM, reactive maintenance and compliance
- Experience using CAFM systems and managing KPIs
- A good understanding of health & safety, risk assessments and method statements
- The ability to manage subcontractors and small works
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
- A proactive, solution-focused approach
