Our client, a leading Civil Engineering and Infrastructure specialist, is seeking a Senior Planner to join their team in London on a contract basis.

Responsibilities of Senior Planner:

  • Develop and maintain detailed, accurate project plans that reflect full scope, resource needs, and contractual requirements.

  • Support tender, pre-construction, and delivery phases by collaboratively building robust planning documentation.

  • Establish efficient construction methodologies, sequencing, and logistics to optimise programme delivery.

  • Identify programme risks and opportunities early and advise the team on mitigation strategies.

  • Monitor the critical path and key milestones, highlighting any changes that may affect delivery.

  • Prepare revised programmes to demonstrate the impact of change in line with project and contract obligations.

  • Attend site visits and progress meetings to gather updates and validate planning assumptions.

  • Update short-term plans, progress reports, and construction programmes to reflect real-time performance.

  • Produce 4D visualisations of project plans to support digital rehearsals and planning communication.

  • Manage planning-related reporting, including monthly programme submissions and weekly lookahead updates.

  • Review and integrate subcontractor schedules into the overall project programme to ensure alignment.

Required Experience for Senior Planner:

  • Previous experience working for Sub-Contractor or self delivery main Contractor. Ideally from an Engineering / Operational background with experience delivering large infrastructure and Utilities works i.e. Water, Waste Water, Gas, Electrical etc. Excellent knowledge of P6 software and previous use of OPC would be beneficial.
  • Advanced (Primavera) P6 experience and knowledge of NEC
  • Previous experience of leading collaborative planning processes, you’ll have the ability to interrogate/take information from drawings to implement an efficient planning service for the business
  • Your ability to communicate complex information to a wide range of audiences whilst working in pressurised situations to tight deadlines will be crucial
  • Able to adapt as required to meet project objectives, you will be innovative and supportive of other members of the team to enhance the reputation of the planning team across the business

Desirable

  • Previous experience with Oracle Primavera Cloud (OPC)
  • Experience in working on-site with an understanding of how a project works from inception to completion
  • Degree within Civil Engineering/Construction or equivalent
